Incarnations by Radha Krishnan

11x15 inches
watercolor on 140lb coldpress paper

This was a life size statue standing tall on a water fountain in Las Vegas.  Had been to Vegas last month on a holiday.  I could not abstain from making her portrait.  And now, here she is a part of my original watercolor collection.

Kumaon Light by Prabha N.

acrylic on canvas, 4 x 4 ft

The above painting was a popular one in the recent solo. Imagine wearing woolen clothing, sitting out in the sun outside a small tea-shop having chai, enjoying the mighty Himalayan snow-peaks on a crisp October morning.

Sir

Oil (15" x 11")

This is a portrait of our teacher (mine and Sujit's), Mr. Ambadas Mahurkar. He was a renowned watercolourist in Hyderabad and elsewhere. He was so prolific that even at the age of 74, he would paint 5 or 6 watercolours a day. Its been a privilege to study under him.
All comments and critiques are most welcome. Please see my paintings on my blog here

Used and Forgotten - Prabal Mallick

Title - Used and Forgotten
Size - 18 inch x 12 inch
Medium - Watercolor on paper
Year - 2009
Status - Available

The title of the painting explains the painting completely. I had made it as a metaphor to almost everything that is 'used and forgotten' including human beings. This was at display in the last exhibition in July this year. A gentleman took a lot of time at this painting and came to me and congratulated me. And then he discussed about it for sometime from which I could gather that he had understood the intended metaphor in the painting. I was indeed very happy because I knew there is at least one person who understood the thought process behind this painting. Well now you also know. :)

'Retired'-- by Vinayak Deshmukh

Watercolor (15" x 20")

Did this one from a photograph on an old, out of use industrial tractor. Old, rusted machinery somehow always appeals to me.
All comments and critiques are most welcome.
