Mehrangarh Fort by Padmaja

Acrylic on Canvas, 12 '' by 14 '' Private Collection

Jodhpur is known as the blue city of India, as a heap of houses are obviously painted blue. The Mehrangarh Fort lies in the heart of the old city of Jodhpur. Recently, I had been there. I tried to get a glimpse of the fort from a distance. It was a good ride up on that winding road leading to the Fort and I was fascinated by the way the houses were all colored blue! Back in Mumbai, I really wish that I get some free paint and permission to paint the slums to make them look beautiful :-)
