My next exhibition is scheduled for a mid May release. Usha Shantharam

It is my pleasure to announce the dates of my next exhibition on Artists of India   Arthi.  I can see new artists joining in more frequently now.  Thanks to you we have a common platform now.

The exhibition is scheduled to start from 16th May 2011 through 25th May 2011 to be held in Chitra Kala Parishad Bangalore.  This time it is a group show. As many of you know that I have been teaching painting informally  to an interested few for the past 3 years.  I felt the need to promote some of them who are doing extremely well.  So they will all (4 of them) be exhibiting along with me in May.  All the participating debut artists are software proffessionals and I am very eager to show their artworks to all.
I hope to God that all goes well.

One of the paintings to be exhibited - a landscape is displayed here.  This is a 'plein air' painting done in Lal Bagh Bangalore.  This is my artwork though.

Women in Sarees - usha shantharam

I feel very exited and delighted on being accepted into the clan of 'Artists of India'.  Many thanks to Arti.  I am looking forward to a wonderful time together with our elite group of artists.

'Women in Sarees' is one of my paintings that has received maximum comments and is also a favourite of mine.  So I decided to share it as my first blog post to 'Artists of India'.

'Women in Sarees' is an acrylic painting on canvas of size 16"x20".  It was first showcased in my solo exhitbition  called 'Body Language' - at 'Chitra Kala Parishad' Bangalore.
